About me

What is this all about?

My name is Oleksii, and I’m a software engineer. My commercial experience started back in 2013, and since then I’ve been learning a lot about web development, mobile development, DevOps, and technical leadership.

Recently, I’ve been browsing and cleaning up the projects folder on my MacBook, which I bought in 2021, and found a lot of small utilities and projects I had even forgotten I developed. Most of them are useless to the world and were intended to feed my curiosity at that exact moment, solve some small one-time task, serve as a PoC for some idea, or shape my vision as an engineer. And there’s definitely a bunch I still can’t remember what they were about :)

Then, I moved to the notes app and it happened again: a bunch of notes from meetings with people whose last names I can barely remember, notes from technical reviews of my former mentees (those actually brought a warm nostalgic smile to my face), follow-up letters to my performance reviews, shopping lists, some 3-4 word notes that made no sense today (and maybe even 3 hours after they were written).

TLDR;

So I’ve decided to run a blog where I could post practical advice to myself in the future, share thoughts, moods, releases, and the stories behind them. If it helps anyone else down the road—that would be a pleasure.
